What to expect from the consultation session
I ask that you arrive 15 minutes early for our initial consultation session to look over and complete necessary paperwork before we get started. Please also bring the completed client history form available here. I like to have you arrive early and get this out of the way so that we can spend the majority of the session on what brings you into my office.
During the consultation session, my main goal is to understand what you are looking for from me. I won’t ask you to lie down on a couch nor will I assign homework or ask you to participate in any type of exercises. I likely won’t ask too many questions, as I prefer to hear from you in your own words. I encourage you to ask any questions about the therapeutic process, appointment times, fees, insurance, etc. This session is also a chance for us to decide if there is a good “fit” and seem comfortable working together. Assuming we decide we are a good fit and you want to move forward working with me, we will finalize the details of our arrangement and schedule a regularly recurring session.
